"In God We Trust"...Or Do We?

I'm sure we've all heard about the outrageous actions being taken to remove "In God We Trust" from our money here in the US.  In looking at this manifestation from a deeper level, however, it is merely an outpicturing of where we have lost our faith in God as a nation.

Do we even remember what faith is?  Well, although I covered this in an earlier newsletter, it deserves the spotlight once again.

Real faith is the alignment of the Soul with it's Source.

Whether your prayer is one of supplication or affirmation, there must be an inner "knowing" and acceptance that what you pray for is already taking place.  It is the understanding that in a greater reality, you are not separate from that which you pray for.

In the words of Wanikiya (the Lakota word for Jesus), "Therefore I say unto you, All things whatsoever ye pray and ask for, believe that ye have received them, and ye shall have them" (Mark 11:24). ...

If your prayer is simply a wanting and desire from the position of "not having", and your belief and "faith", if you will, remains in the "not having", then you have declared your separation from God and affirmed the opposite of your intended prayer!

The real prayer is nothing less than that which lies deep in your heart as the truth that you affirm in every thought and action.  It is your expression of life and the statement you are making to the universe in how you live that life!

Faith accepts, without resistance, the truth of "what is"...and receives it in humility with complete surrender of any argument or opposition.

Back to " In God We Trust":  Especially now, in our shaky economy, we must ask ourselves, "Is it really God we are trusting...or is it fear? You see, everytime we compromise our virtue to pacify our fears for the sake of advantage or gain, or what we may justify as our need for survival...everytime we compromise our virtue, we have just placed our faith in fear!

Ok, so what exactly is "virtue"?  Let's take a look at Key #7 from "The Keys to Forgiveness" (Part 2) (Vol. 3 August-September 2006 Issue)

KEY #7:  The True Meaning of Virtue

You are not your emotions.  You have emotions, but YOU are not your emotions.  It is critical to understand yourself as a Spiritual Being having a human experience.  As humans, we have emotions, but “who we are” is a truth far beyond what emotions understand.

Recognizing the distinction between emotion and Truth is absolutely critical in true spiritual development.  Clarity in understanding this distinction (between emotion and Truth) and making a clear, conscious decision and commitment of will to stand in the Truth and to act on that Truth when faced with the choice is...THE TRUE MEANING OF VIRTUE.

The Ancient Sages consistently emphasized this point.

“Through the eye of a needle…someone once said…” ("When It’s All Said and Done"- THE FARMER’S DAUGHTER )

(Note: This key is not about denying that you have emotions, but rather regulating them

so that the Truth is the dominate force in your life.)

So, in looking at this symbol of nourishment we call money, once again I leave you with this question:  When it's all said and done, is it in God that you (we) trust...or is it in fear that you (we) trust?

Mitakuwe Oyas'in,

The following will be our Affirmation Prayer.

Find some quiet time to create inner “sacred space” for yourself.

Soft music can help…Breath of Angels,  perhaps, if you already have it.

Calm your mind, relax your body, and connect your being to God as you understand it.

I encourage you to daily read this slowly, speaking it out loud if you can.

Allow spaces of silence between each phrase of affirmation, accepting with

humility and faith that the word you speak is taking place now.

Affirmation Prayer

I am that I am...Be still and know that I am God.

As I pause now and focus on my breath...I become acutely aware of the very

life force flowing through me in this moment.

This is God flowing through my veins and animating my very being.

(Pause and "Practice the Presence" for 30 sec or so)

I am one with this source of life within me and it is

"In God That I Truly Trust."

God is the source of all things including money...

God is the source of absolutely every way in which I am nourished.

This is the paradigm I accept with every fiber of my being...on every level of consciousness.

My every thought, feeling and action reflects this truth now...

and the Universe responds by showering the abundant blessings of heaven upon me.

I accept now...and I receive.

In every place that appearances once deceived me into believing in lack...

those place are now immersed in the light of this Truth.

I know that in this very moment my good is flowing to me in abundant supply.

I am at ease in this flow.

I calmly respect the natural organic pattern of "flow".  I understand and quietly accept the ebb and tide.

In my calm acceptance, all previous fear is dissipated.

That which remains now is the ease and confident knowing that God is my Source.

In God I Trust...

Because I am in God and God is in me.

It is so and...

I know.

This Issue's Featured Song:

From The Farmer's Daughter

This song will be available for listening until the next newsletter issue

(approx. June 1st, 2008)

I specifically chose this song because of the deep personal meaning it had for me when I wrote it, and its application here regarding faith and acceptance.

It was 1995 and I had just recently lost my father.  This tremendous loss catapulted me into the depths of an inner journey like never of purging all that was not in alignment with the Truth.  All desire for things to be anything other than what they were had to be released if I were to truly heal and move on with my life in a healthy way.  Ultimately, this meant deep acceptance of all that is, all that was, and all that ever will be.

This song was a "Dear John" letter, if you will, to my my fear... and to my say that these could no longer run my life.  It was the expression of an "inner death" of all that was false, all that was order to give birth to a greater expression of LIFE!
