This article has been kept intentionally simple and sparing of words.  Why?  It is more important to use the ideas and questions presented here as a tool for self-examination.  All the books of Truth that exist...all the teachings of Truth...all the words of Truth...mean nothing unless you make it real in your own life!  One simple Truth lived completely...can change one's life forever.

Our response to the energies of these times can manifest in our lives as overwhelm and exhaustion...simply TOO MUCH!!  Therefore, it is important that we pay close attention to what we are choosing to nourish ourselves on.  Does it truly nourish us?  Are we chasing an "ideal" of what we believe nourishes us,  only to be tossed about by desire and fear when things don't go our way?

That which truly nourishes will have the effect of nourishing!  You will feel nourished.  You will experience balance, lightness and a sense of well-being.

If the effects you are getting are stress and overwhelm, then it's time to take a closer look.  It's also possible that there may not be a problem so much with "what" you are doing as "how" you are doing it!  Living is in the journey...not the destination.

The important question is  "How do we live life?"  How do we live each moment...all those small seemingly insignificant moments??  All those small moments collectively make up our life.

It is easy to get caught up in destinations and goals with our focus on a particular event or outcome.  We can put all of our energies into achieving that end...but the real living occurs in the journey by which we got there!  When we make ourselves dependent on a certain outcome or goal, we lose our center.

The Tao Te Ching says "That which is rooted is easy to nourish" (Stephen Mitchell Translation).  When we are centered, it is easy for the universe to nourish us and our lives will flow.

When we are not centered...when we are caught up in desire or fear and dependent on things going according to that desire, we will experience stress, overwhelm and frantic energy!

All of this points us to acceptance...acceptance of things exactly as they are.  It points us to giving up all resistance and flowing with "what is".

So the key to the art of nourishing is the acceptance of "what is".

How else can we see clearly to make the appropriate choices for our lives...choices that will bring order and balance and allow all aspects of our lives to find their proper place.  Be sincere with your life.  Be sincere with yourself.  What nourishes?  What does not nourish? Accept the truth without resistance as you answer these questions for yourself.  Remember...YOU are the catalyst of your own healing.

Mitakuwe Oyas'in,

The following will be our Affirmation Prayer.

Find some quiet time to create inner “sacred space” for yourself.

Soft music can help…Breath of Angels,  perhaps, if you already have it.

Calm your mind, relax your body, and connect your being to God as you understand it.

I encourage you to daily read this slowly, speaking it out loud if you can.

Allow spaces of silence between each phrase of affirmation, accepting with

humility and faith that the word you speak is taking place now.

Affirmation Prayer

The true source of my nourishment is the Divine Self that I am.

Knowing this...and living in this knowing is the only true "security".

The consciousness of this Divine Self that I am is the true source of my abundance...

the true source of all things in this organic world in which I live.

All else that would appear to be the source is nothing more than a symbol of this truth.

To believe in the physical manifestations as anything more than a symbol or illusion.

Knowing this, I now release all attachment to these illusions of security.

By releasing my attachment to the illusions...

I am in fact releasing poverty consciousness!

I now choose to return to my true Source...for I Am That I Am.

I am this Divine Self in expression as me.

In this very moment, I am healing all that I have perceived as less than whole

as I step into the light of my Divine Self!

I am no longer held prisoner by symbols and illusions...

I am no longer held captive by helplessness, hopelessness or quiet desperation.

I no longer have need to seek security or chase after it...

For I choose to live in the security of my Divine Self.

I have returned home.

I am safe...

I am at peace...

I rest in tranquility here.

My heart is quiet and content.

My very being smiles in this self-contained joy!

I celebrate this truth now!

It is so and...

I know.

This Issue's Featured Song:

From The Farmer's Daughter

This song will be available for listening until the next newsletter issue

(approx. August 1st, 2008)

I chose this song because water depicts the very nature of nourishing...gentle, yielding, receptive...acceptance of "what is" in harmony with things just as they are. This piece incorporates a flavor of my classical background in the expression of "flow", blended with a melody adaptation from Shout Song #2 (an intertribal powwow song by Howard Bad Hand). Inspired by the contemplation of water and the teachings of The Tao Te Ching, I decided, when recording, to give "water" a solo at the end :-)

Like Water

Lowly like water...flow.

Softly yielding...always seeking union with the whole.

Blow gentle wind...gently blow.

Always healing...all revealing...what's within the soul.

Flow...flow like water...flow.

Always giving...always living low like water...low.

Know, it's within you to know.

Softly yielding and receiving

Union with the whole...

Union with the whole...

Low like water....

In just a few days, I will be taking off for a couple of weeks for my yearly sabbatical where I will participate in Native American ceremony and ritual.  I once again extend to you that if you have any special prayer requests, you may use the Prayer Request form by clicking on this link or on the button below.  Your prayers will be taken into the circle of this most sacred ceremony.  Please hold an attitude of faith that the answers to your prayers and healing are taking place now.  Stay alert to any messages or dreams from Spirit that come to you during this time. Since I will be away,  know that even if for some reason I do not physically receive your prayer request, by your very intention to offer it, the realm of Spirit will know and will respond appropriately.

Whether you make a request or not, I will be holding each of you in my prayers during this time.

Thank you for your continued support of this website as a vehicle to nourish the spirit of the people.
