Grandmother's Time...Is Our Time Too!

As many of you know, for months I have been saying that one of the most important thing we can do in these times is the purification of our own heart. It just can't be said enough.  Grandmother Earth is a conscious being and she is in a time of her own cleansing and rebalancing.  We so many times arrogantly think it is our job to "heal" her.  Yes, I have said it in some lyrics along the way.  But I later came to understand that it is truly healing with her...rebalancing and cleansing with her.  She will do her own healing and balancing.

She is a conscious being and although there are those trying (and sometimes succeeding) in manipulation of weather and certain other earth changes for their own gain, man just doesn't have that kind of power in any lasting sense.  Grandmother will do what she needs to do, shaking her back and whatever else she needs to shake, to bring her own equilibrium.  If we are aligned with her from the heart, this offers our greatest protection and is truly the best way we can help her.  We are not separate from her.  We are a part of her.  We are threads of this greater tapestry of life.

With this is mind, let us begin to explore within our own hearts anything that would keep us from peace on the deepest levels.  Is there anything from the past that you have not completely let go of?

Assess yourself, anyone or any situation where you might still be punishing them in your mind. The question: "Why do we still need to punish them?".  The answer: Because we don't want them to "get away with it". Thus we may be holding on to it in our mind/emotions and punishing them there through internal rebellion and resistance.  But the only person we are hurting is ourselves.  It is very possible that we may not even be totally aware of this internal state in that it may manifest as an overall attitude that we hold toward certain elements of our lives.

The truth lies in acceptance.  We don't want to accept that they did get away with it. Now karmically we know this isn't the case because divine justice will prevail in that sense.  And even justice in the legal/organic sense may have been applied to the situation.  But what I am meaning here when I say "they got away with it" is simply the fact that they did it, said it, or whatever the case may be, and it can't be undone in many cases.

For instance, if a child is harmed by an adult, you can bring all the justice you want to the adult but the child still faces the effects of that adult's actions towards them.  They face the impact it has and will have on their lives and their attitude toward that life.  It cannot be undone in the sense that it happened and this fact is where acceptance is needed in a profound way.

Look now.  Do you have any of these circumstances in your life or buried deeply in your heart that need this kind of acceptance?  Now is the time to surrender it and let it go.  Actually the energies of these times are totally in support of these corrections.  Unfortunately we can get stuck in fear because of the seeming instability that is also a part of these times and changes.  However, it is this true forgiveness...this act of returning things to their source, that is a sure path to inner peace.

Within this acceptance is yet another level of acceptance.  It is about accepting the fact that this is a person who would do "whatever it is they did". It is about accepting the truth of the patterns of behavoir they have demonstrated.   Behavior is always a big part of what defines who we are.  Sometimes the very reason we haven't completely forgiven someone is that underneath it all, we are not wanting to accept what they have shown us about who they are. We don't want to accept it because it means we have  to make some changes in our relationships.  They may be a very good persion in many areas, but perhaps this one area is the one we haven't been willing to look at or accept.  Perhaps it is the most important area for us to face.

We may find that we have been holding on to some ideal or image of this person or relationship, unwilling to accept the negative part. With acceptance, the truth may actually dictate that we move away from the relationship in order to make needed corrections in our own lives.

How many times have you said to yourself "I can't believe they would do that?".  Well, this is exactly the point.  You may not be believing this part about the person when it is right in front of you. What we may do instead is to try to fix it (or them) in our minds in every other way we can besides truly accepting the truth of what is. This is what leads to punishing them in your mind in order to fix or save them so they would no longer be a person who would do that.  Gets deep, huh?

Acceptance of things exactly as they are is what will lead you to the truth and allow you to release the bondages and burdens of your own heart.

All this said, the deepest level of acceptance is where you truly accept yourself and your part in all the relationships of your life, and all the things good or bad that you yourself have done.  Re-reading this article and putting yourself in there as the person you are needing to forgive sheds a whole new light on things!

It is most important to realize however that "you in the present" are not defined by "you in the past".  You do not have to identify yourself with anything from the past.  It is always a choice.  This is exactly where the need for forgiveness and acceptance abides.

May these words guide you to your own cleansing and renewing which always contributes to the greater whole.  Grandmother's time...is our time too!

The following will be our Affirmation Prayer.

Find some quiet time to create inner “sacred space” for yourself.

Soft music can help…Breath of Angels,  perhaps, if you already have it.

Calm your mind, relax your body, and connect your being to God as you understand it.

I encourage you to daily read this slowly, speaking it out loud if you can.

Allow spaces of silence between each phrase of affirmation, accepting with

humility and faith that the word you speak is taking place now.

Affirmation Prayer

I am that I am.

Be still and know that I am God.

I am that I am.

Be still and know that I am God.

I know now that the very breath of life within me is the presence of God animating my being.

I also know that the very breath of life within our precious Earth Mother

is the Presence of God animating her being too.

We are truly one.

She and I are both threads of a greater tapestry of life and I harmonize with her now.

I am the unique expression of God as (your name).

I now release all that would obstruct me from forgiving.

I accept fully all that I need in my understanding of true forgiveness, that I may know peace.

I accept fully the consiousness of true acceptance of all things as they are.

I accept fully now my Divine Nature

and allow it to fill my consciousness with unconditional love…

I am healed…I am whole…and I give thanks.

Being one with the Divine Presence, I AM the very clarity I seek.

I am that I am.

Be still and know that I am God.

It is so.

Amen.

Unci Maka

From Calling the Sacred Calling the Sacred Album by Denean Details Page

This song will be available for listening until the next newsletter issue

(approx. October 1st, 2011)

As I was writing this newsletter, this song leaped to the forefront.  In the recording of the Calling the Sacred album, I found myself exploring and experimenting with different rhythms and percussion.  Actually in the case of Unci Maka, the rhythm came first and then I began singing and dancing around the room.  Thus Unci Maka was born.  I was having a blast :-)  I love the primal "feel" of this song.  Hope you do too.

In the Lakota language, "Unci" means "Grandmother", "Maka" means "Earth" and "Wakan" means "Spirit".  You can view the lyrics by following the link below.
